ABOUT
I am a History PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge studying science, nature, and communication in British botanic gardens. I spend my free time reading, writing, and aspiring to be a fictional historic character, ideally a travel writer in the nineteenth century.
One step towards this goal has been publishing my first book, Secret York: An Unusual Guide (Jonglez Publishing, 2022) which explores the hidden gems found in the City of York. The other has been writing my blog, Big Jump History, which finds sites of environmental history dotted around the UK. I would love to hear from anyone interested in history, travel writing, botanic gardens, or the environment.
